KitchenAid Retaining Pin - WP9707223

This KitchenAid retaining pin is used in several KitchenAid mixers, most commonly the 5 & 6 quart professional KitchenAid mixers.  This pin is used to hold the worm follower gear (W11086780) in place on the center shaft (planetary assembly center shaft) and sits directly under the bevel gear (WP9703337).  This pin is also found under the pinion gear on the planetary, it holds the agitator shaft to the planetary on the mixer.

This pin is often replaced due to being damaged/sheared or getting lost during a repair.  If ordering parts for you mixer, it is a great idea to order an extra retaining pin (wp9707223) and snap ring (wp9703680) 

This pin is also found in the 4.5 Quart & 5 Qt tilt head mixers as well as the K5 bowl lift stand mixers, and is used to hold the bevel pinion gear, part number WP9709627 in place on the center shaft, part number WP240026
