This Genuine KitchenAid Stand Mixer Hinge Pin is an OEM component specifically designed for 4.5 Quart Ultra Power Tilt Head stand mixers and the 5 Quart Artisan Tilt Head stand mixers. Located on the pedestal base of the mixer the hinge pin connects the Pedestal to the stand mixer head, allowing it to swing freely for easy loading and unloading of ingredients.
The hinge pin may need to be replaced due to wear and tear over time, damage from excessive force or repeated impact, or rust and corrosion from moisture exposure. Or due to being misplaced. The hinge pin is held in place by a small set screw under the base of the mixer.
This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with some KitchenAid and select Kenmore stand mixers.
